We undertake both Legal Aid and privately funded work. We are one of the Scotland's largest Legal Aid providers. Our private fees are extremely competitive and we are happy to discuss these with you at our initial meeting. We offer a variety of payment plans and set fees, dependant upon the nature of your legal needs.
Financial verification of income and capital
The Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB) insists that the financial circumstances of all clients is confirmed and verified, by the solicitor, at the time an application for legal aid is made. This means that you will require to provide proof of your income at the time when you complete the legal aid form with your solicitor or immediately thereafter. If the information is not provided you may find that SLAB will refuse to grant the application for legal aid. We would be grateful is you would bring the following information with you when attending for a meeting with your solicitor so that legal aid is granted immediately and we can start working on your case.
If you are receiving state benefits you must provide the following:
- National Insurance Number
- Letter from DWP confirming the benefit received or;
- Bank statement or mini statement from cash machine showing the benefit received
If you are employed you must provide the following:
- National Insurance Number
- Details of your Employer

You will also have to confirm whether you have any assets of value.
